The first personal finance product from Virgin was it's PEP introduced in March 1995 by Virgin Direct. In October 1997 the Virgin One account was introduced which was the first account of it's type to be introduced to the UK. The in June 2000 Virgin launched it's major online presence in the personal finance space with virginmoney.com. Then in January 2002 Virgin introduced it's credit card. One month later Virgin Direct and virginmoney.com merged to create Virgin Money. In September 2003, Virgin Money celebrated it's one milionth customer. Here we look at the credit cards offered by Virgin Money.

There are basically two types of credit card from Virgin Money. A balance transfer card and a low standard APR card. The balance transfer card has a competitive offer with a nine month zero percent period, but the resulting APR is nothing exceptional. The low APR card is one of the best around though.

There are some good features with the Virgin Credit Card, notably the reward scheme which allows holders to redeem points for products available from the exclusive members shop.

As you would expect, Virgin is competitive in all markets it enters and the credit card market is no exception.
